Playnest, a next-generation platform and publishing ecosystem for hybrid casual games, today announced a rebrand from WonderHive alongside a fresh vision and a change in leadership to position the company for its next stage of growth.

Stepping into the CEO role is Gabriele Aimone, who brings experience from studios such as Supercell, Playraven and Neon Koi, a studio acquired by Playstation.

Gabriele has also helped build and grow several companies during his tenure in the gaming industry.

Aimone now aims to drive Playnest’s mission to make game discovery, development, and publishing smarter and more seamless for developers and players.

“As we embark on this new chapter as Playnest, our focus is clear: to build the most efficient platform for hybrid casual games,” said Gabriele Aimone, CEO of Playnest*. “We want to empower game developers to focus on creativity while we handle the heavy lifting, such as ads, user acquisition, and discoverability, so that great games can find their audience faster.”*

The New Platform Vision: “Spotify for Hybrid Casual Games”

Playnest is building a next-generation platform that seamlessly connects players and games within a unified ecosystem. The platform combines a curated game discovery experience for players with powerful tools for developers to create, test, and launch high-quality hybrid casual games faster.

At the core of this platform is the Playnest SDK, which simplifies game development by providing essential assets and reducing the time and cost required to bring games to market. Developers benefit from built-in distribution, monetization support, and access to the Playnest ecosystem, allowing them to focus on creativity while reaching the right audience.

With this approach, Playnest bridges the gap between developers and players by offering studios smarter publishing solutions and ensuring players enjoy a seamless, quality-driven gaming experience within the Playnest ecosystem.

New Funding from SISU Game Ventures

Playnest also announced renewed investment from SISU Game Ventures, who continue to back the company’s evolving vision. This additional funding will be used to accelerate product development and expand the Playnest platform, helping developers bring their games to market faster and more efficiently.

Playnest: Where Great Games Find Their Audience, Faster

The Playnest platform is already available on Android, with plans to launch on iOS soon. In the coming months, the company will also introduce more tools and features for developers to enhance their experience within the Playnest ecosystem.
